All I wanted was a few cups of coffee, maybe some conversation. Instead, I got some home-grown US terrorism. I presume that someone will recompense the owner for his troubles?

A pity. They had a pretty good cup of basic coffee. The pasties were a touch stale, though. Well, at least the one I was served was.

Manuel? Are you all right? I thought you'd be a bit more... freaked out, but all I'm getting on the link is calm, and a bit of angry...

Why would I be upset?

I grew up with this sort of thing, really. It was a much a part of my childhood as Sunday recitals or brandy after cigars.

Not at all unusual.

*blinks* Your childhood? Wait, you remember that?

Just how much of your memory's come back since Berlin? Because you didn't remember anything about being a kid at all...

Bits and pieces

It's a slow process, but I get more complete and bigger fragments.

So far, so good.

Definitely good. That's great news. :) Needed some tonight.

Mind if I come over and use you as a pillow for a bit? Between Pete's Dad and Monday coming up, I'm feeling a bit frazzled.

Oh, the horror.

.. Manuel, that is really very brilliant.

I imagine that the owner has insurance, but... maybe we could do something to help repay him for the damage as well? A fund-raiser?

It couldn't hurt...

If my admittedly spotty memory is correct, couldn't you basically just rebuild the entire place out of your Istanbul score?

That might send a message to the bigots out there. But if we do do a traditional fundraiser - wait. What kind of market is there for a black-tie ball in Westchester, New York?

What other kind of fundraiser is there?

After the amount that I put away for university that I cannot touch until next Sept, I am not certain.

I could certainly contribute quite a bit, but I have no idea what construction or renovation costs are like in New York.

There are other kinds of fundraisers. Many of the girls and boy's clubs have them - selling cookies, that sort of thing.

I have an idea for something that could kill two birds with one stone - fundraising and the whole HeliX mess. I'll tell you about it on the plane, yeah? Timing's shite - I need to talk to Forge too, see if his ideas and mine are mixing or not.
